We are here because fewer than 6% of people with a learning disability are in paid work. That is not good enough.
It is not good enough because we know what works - giving good quality support to people who are interested in finding work, and matching their skills, interests and aspirations to the needs of local employers gets good job outcomes.
Simple enough? You would think so. Yet in the UK we consistently fail to apply this knowledge.
Mutually Inclusive can help change this. We are Researchers, Developers and Consultants interested in getting more people with learning disabilities into work. We support local authorities, voluntary sector organisations, disabled people and families. We work across all areas of supported employment and social enterprise development including:
Job coaching
Working with young people, schools and families
Self-employment and small business development
Social enterprise
Personalisation
Our Partnership consists of organisations and initiatives specifically designed to respond to the challenges of creating more and better employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities.
6% is not good enough but we can change it.
